This was my first experience with Tomb Raider since the ps2 games. Could be better with some adjustments, but game remains engaging and impressive for the most part and has many strong points, I would give it 8.5 if there was an option, but since there is no, very solid 8. Generally a good game with very impressive visuals, all the gameplay mechanics are also very good and well thought, but some things like those mentioned above are just ridiculous. Unfortunately devs tried to make the game too flashy, some crazy jumps or fighting 20 enemies at once is not really doing anything good for this game, it is only making it look cheap. Especially those action-arcade elements when you are escaping from somewhere can be epic. It is a mix of everything - exploring, puzzles, action, arcade elements, combat, stealth, gathering materials.

Gameplay wise the game is good for the most part. One drawback to visual quality is that there is a lot of aliasing and no sensible way to remove it, also distant landscape is sometimes not that good. Visually the game is absolutely amazing, scenery is great, lighting is superb and character design and quality is just unbelievable at times. I wasn't expecting much from this game and I approached it with conviction that I am only playing this because of visuals, but it actually was quite engaging.
